Meet Mila: How the FUMO Concierge Finds Your Candle

You walk into a candle shop. Fifty candles on the shelf. You smell three. They all blur. You leave with whichever one had the prettiest label, or you leave with nothing.

That moment is what Mila exists for.

What Mila is

Mila is the FUMO concierge. She lives on every page of livefumo.com, ready to help you find the right candle without making you scroll through ingredient lists or guess from a label. You can talk to her or type. She asks a few questions and points you toward the candle that fits.

We built Mila to replace something simpler that was not working. We used to have a quiz. Six questions, multiple choice. It worked, sort of, but it felt like filling out a form. Mila is a real conversation. She can read between the lines in a way the quiz cannot. If you say "something for my mom who likes tea but hates florals," she knows what to do.

What you can ask her

Mila handles the work that used to take three browser tabs.

  • Pick a candle for yourself. Tell her what you want a room to feel like, or what time of day you usually light a candle, and she will narrow it down. Browse the Stillness Collection first if you want a feel for what is on offer, then ask her to help you choose.
  • Pick a gift. Describe the person. Mila will ask follow-up questions about their style and habits. She narrows in fast.
  • Match a mood. Late-night reading or a morning that needs to feel new. She has a candle for each. If you want to compare the three states side by side first, the Find Your State page lays them out.
  • Match a space. A small bathroom or a long kitchen with afternoon sun. The right scent shifts with the room.
  • Explain what is in any candle. Wax type and wick material. Plus the scent notes. She reads the spec sheet so you do not have to.
  • Find the best deal. She runs the math on the bundle versus three single candles, and on Subscribe & Save versus one-time orders. The cheaper option wins.
  • Walk you through anything. If you are on a product page and want to understand what each section means, ask her. She can scroll the page with you and explain as you go.
  • Help with cart and subscription work. If you have decided what you want, she can add candles to your cart and set up a subscription if you want one.

How to talk to her

You have two options: voice or text. Voice mode is built for natural conversation. If typing feels easier, text mode is right there next to it. Use voice when your hands are busy or you want to think out loud. Text is the better choice when you want to save what she said, or when you are somewhere quiet.

You can switch between them mid-conversation.

What Mila will not do

Mila helps with products and orders. She is not a doctor or a lawyer. If you have a medical concern or a fragrance allergy question, she will hand you off to info@livefumo.com. The team there can answer those directly.

She also will not pressure you to buy. If you ask a question and the honest answer is "this candle is not right for you," she will say that. We built her to help, not to push.

Why we replaced the quiz

For a while, we ran a quiz at livefumo.com/pages/find-your-fumo-scent-quiz. Six questions, designed around mood and ritual. It still works for anyone who prefers a structured form. But for most people, Mila gets to the answer faster, and she can explain why one candle fits and another does not.

If you want to compare, try the quiz, then ask Mila the same set of questions in your own words. The answer should match. Mila will usually catch something the quiz missed, like a follow-up question you did not know to ask yourself.

Is Mila free to use?

Yes. There is no charge to use the FUMO concierge. She is part of the site.

Can Mila help me with my order?

Yes. Once your order is placed, you can ask Mila general questions about shipping, returns, expected delivery, or follow-up questions. For anything that requires looking up a specific order number, she will route you to info@livefumo.com so the team can help directly.

What if Mila does not know the answer?

She will say so. If a question goes outside her scope, she will hand you off to info@livefumo.com without making something up.

Does Mila work in voice mode if I am in public?

Yes, but you may prefer text mode. Voice mode plays her response out loud through your device speaker. If you are in a quiet space or near other people, text mode keeps everything private.
