About FUMO

What is FUMO?

FUMO is a wood wick candle brand built around stillness. Three candles. Clarity, Balance, Depth. Each pairs a specific fragrance with a ceramic vessel and a wood wick that crackles. Every ingredient is listed. Nothing hidden.

Where are FUMO candles made?

Each FUMO candle is designed in the United States and produced in partnership with a certified facility. Every batch is purity-tested before shipping.

What does Sensory Logic mean?

Sensory Logic is how we describe the reasoning behind each scent. Every note exists for what it smells like and how it fits the state. Aldehydes in ECHO open with sparkling brightness. HAZE: amber warmth underneath green tea. Black cherry in VOID pulls the scent inward.

Who is behind FUMO?

FUMO was founded with a single idea: candles should be more than scented wax. The fragrances are composed by Drom, a Frankfurt-based fragrance house. Read more on our story page.

What do ECHO, HAZE, and VOID smell like?

ECHO (Clarity): for the first quiet hour of the morning. Clean aldehydes, soft orange blossom, warm white musk. Learn more.

Orders & Shipping

How long does it take to process my order?

Orders are processed within 1–3 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding holidays). You’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking information once your order ships.

How much does shipping cost?

Standard shipping is complimentary on orders of $50 or more. Orders under $50 ship for $5.95. Expedited shipping (2–3 business days) is available for $12.95. See our full shipping policy.

How do I track my order?

Once your order ships, you’ll receive an email with a tracking number. You can also visit our Track Your Order page and enter your order number and email address.

Can I change my shipping address after placing an order?

If your order hasn’t entered fulfillment (typically within 12 hours of ordering), we can update your shipping address. Email us at info@livefumo.com as soon as possible.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship within the United States only.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for unused, unopened candles in their original packaging. We provide a complimentary prepaid return label for all US returns. See our full return policy.

What if my candle arrived damaged?

Email us at info@livefumo.com with your order number and a photo of the damage. We’ll send a replacement. No need to return the damaged item.

Can I return a candle I've already lit?

We can’t accept returns on lit candles, but if the scent didn’t meet your expectations, reach out to us. We’ll work with you to find the right FUMO for you.

How long do refunds take?

Once we receive your return, refunds are processed within 7–10 business days to your original payment method. Your bank may require an additional 3–5 business days.

Candle Care

How should I burn my candle for the first time?

The first burn is the most important. Let the wax melt to the edges of the vessel. This takes 2–3 hours and prevents tunneling. For the full guide, visit our candle care page.

How long should I burn my candle each time?

2 to 4 hours per session. Never longer than 4. Let the wax solidify completely before relighting. Longer burns overheat the vessel and flatten the fragrance. More detail on our candle care page.

Do I need to trim the wick?

Yes. Before each burn, trim your wood wick to 3–4mm. Pinch away the charred wood from the last burn. This prevents smoking, keeps the flame even, and extends the life of your candle. More in our candle care guide.

When should I stop burning my candle?

Stop when the wick clip is visible or about 1cm of wax remains. Past this point, the base of the vessel can overheat.

Can I reuse the vessel?

Yes. Place the vessel in the freezer for 2–3 hours. The remaining wax will contract and lift out. Clean with warm water and mild soap. The matte ceramic works as a pen holder, small planter, or bedside tray.

How should I store my candles?

Keep your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Extreme heat can soften the wax and affect the fragrance. Store with the lid on to preserve the scent.

Ingredients & Safety

What are FUMO candles made of?

Soy wax (64%), natural wax (24%), beeswax (4%), and phthalate-free fragrance oil (8%). No paraffin. No petroleum derivatives. Every batch is purity-tested. See our full ingredients page.

Why wood wicks instead of cotton?

Wood burns cooler than cotton, which means more fragrance reaches the air. The grain splits as it burns, producing a soft crackle. FSC-certified. No coatings, no additives. Read more about wood vs cotton wicks.

Are FUMO fragrances safe?

All FUMO fragrances are phthalate-free, paraben-free, and IFRA-compliant. Composed by Drom, a Frankfurt-based fragrance house. No Prop 65-listed chemicals. View our Prop 65 disclosure.

Are FUMO candles vegan and cruelty-free?

Cruelty-free. We never test on animals. Our wax blend includes beeswax, so not vegan.

What is the burn time?

Approximately 50 hours per candle when burned in 2–4 hour sessions with proper wick trimming.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Every FUMO candle ships in our signature packaging, designed to feel like a gift from the moment it arrives.

Can I include a gift message?

Personalized gift messages are coming soon. In the meantime, reach out to us at info@livefumo.com and we’ll include a handwritten note with your order.

Do you offer corporate or bulk gifting?

How does Subscribe & Save work?

Choose any single candle and subscribe for 10% off every delivery. Your candle ships monthly. Pause or cancel anytime from your account. Subscribe from any product page.

Can I skip or cancel a subscription?

Yes. Log into your account and manage your subscription anytime. Skip a month or swap scents. Cancel with no fees.

Does the subscription work with the bundle?

No. Subscribe & Save applies to individual candles only. The Complete Collection Bundle already includes a 10% discount.
